You only receive Holy Orders once. It is also an honor to receive Holy Orders and it is something that you want to work towards. It takes a lot of courage and responsibility to receive Holy Orders. Deacons, priests, and bishops must really want to be closer to God and go a step further in their faith.
How does a person prepare to receive this sacrament?
It takes a long time to prepare to receive Holy Orders. The first step of the process is ordination to the deaconate. Also, their are many responsibilities that go along with Holy Orders, like giving confession.
Where can this sacrament be received?
This sacrament should be received exclusively administered as part of the Mass.

First the Bishop questions the candidates for the sacrament of Holy Orders. Then he performs the anoints the laying on of hands and says the consecratory prayer. Next the candidates are vested with the stole and the chasuble and then the bishop anoints the hands of the candidates with chrism (or oil). Finally the candidate is presented with the holy chalice and patent.
When the Bishop is ordaining a man to the priesthood, he says:
"Almighty Father, grant to this servant of yours the dignity of the priesthood. Renew within him the Spirit of holiness. As a co-worker with the order of bishops may he be faithful to the ministry that he receives from you. Lord God, and be to others a model of right conduct."
